Okay, sorry. A personal joke and not everyone would understand.

石烁 老师

Shi Laoshi. Beautiful, kind, intelligent,  inspiring. 

《有些事情不是看到希望才去坚持，而是坚持了才会看到希望》
Translation: In some cases, you don't see hope and then persevere. But instead you have  to have perseverance. Then, you'll be able to see hope.

One of my favourite quotes that I learnt from her. I loved being in her class. 



王凯艺

Mike! The Teacher's assistant. Reliable, funny, bully-able Mike. Just kidding. Thank you for giving me a Chinese name, 阿米拉 (米拉 Omicron Ceti, a red giant star). I love it.



曾邓笛

Dundee, Teacher's assistant #2. She's so cute and lovable and runs around with the camera. She's our personal photographer and one of the producers for the flashmob video which I will post later.



赵鋆

Zhao Jun, the lovely volunteer. Always having a positive energy and I love her smile, it can light up the whole world. She's also CRAZY talented in dancing!

Becca, from U.S.A. I sometimes call her mommy haha. Although I can still hear some American accent in her Chinese, living in China for 2 years made her Chinese very well.

Ha Min Kim, from U.S.A. He's actually Korean so he's my favourite Oppa! Saranghae. I just had to choose this picture because I know he wouldn't like it haha. In times of boredom we would play his games on the bus.

A Bowl of Noodle Soup for the Soul

My first month in Taipei, and I'm loving it! Exploring sound, taste and smell of everything around. One thing that really got to me was, the hospitality of the locals. During the first three days here, my current roommate, Felicia and I haven't got a room to stay. We were staying at a hotel downtown and would require us around forty minutes to get to NCCU by bus.  One night, when we were surveying rooms closer to campus, a middle aged man who introduced us to some landlords fixed us to a bowl of beef noodle soup.           牛肉麵  n iúròu miàn Coming from Indonesia where our food is cooked with all kinds of herbs and spices, it's fair to say that the food aren't suitable for my tastebuds as most of it are flavourless. But this baby over here.. Felicia and I both devoured it at once. It's pretty hard to find halal beef noodles, but a friend of ours took us to a place in near Sun Yatsen Memorial Hall, 清真中國牛肉麵食館 Halal Chinese Beef Noodle Shop. Top notch!

Fun Taiwan

Busy, busy, busy. That's how I try to keep myself sane, without spreading myself too thin. Counter intuitive? Very. I mean, honestly speaking this is a time when the days and nights doesn't go by so seamlessly (despite all the support I got from friends and family, thank you.)  After Istanbul, it was time to get my head on and back in the game. I had to finish what I've started and get that degree. My undergraduate thesis was an analyzation of a film called The Flowers of War by the legendary Zhang Yimou, which was based on Geling Yan's novel,  金陵十三釵, literally meaning thirteen flowers of Jinling .  The first encounter with the film was in my first semester of university, when I watched the movie at a friend's rent. Four years later, I find myself in a room with three of my lecturers, defending my arguments.      14th July 2016 Juggling two to three different things is (kinda) my forte.
